Information about Kerygma Theater Company - Oasis UMC

Was created as a project to attract children, youth and adults to the Lord through theater arts including acting, songs and dance under the direction of Ms. Yvette Soto.  
The construction is made in Spanish and English making sure everyone understands the project elements.  
Kerigma's mission is to reach out the Latino population through means of arts and entertainment by bringing them closer to the Lord.  Educational workshops are provided to the community free of charge and theater musical productions are created.  
Some of the monologues and plays presented portray society problems such as: homelessness, alcoholism. drug abuse, domestic violence, diseases among other society ills and at the same time we portray ways on how to cope with these problems faced. 
Information is also provided about community agencies that offer services in those areas. Oasis United Methodist Church is a church that reached out the entire Latino Community.
Kerigma is composed of (4) elements: 

• Dramatic Theater Arts 
• Musical Arts including song and dance.  
• The dance group (Hip-Hop Ministry) O.A.S.I.S. (Our Amazing Steps Into Salvation) is part of this program. 
• Youth and children are also offered worshops in percussion instrument playing.
